Maple wood hoops give a vintage appeal while adding a fat round sound with a powerful, explosive rimshot and crisp, woody cross stick. The tension rod holes are countersunk into the hoop so the hoop does not require claws. You may need longer tension rods if you are retrofitting them on your drum depending on how much extra threading the existing tension rods have.
